Student Support Services - Overview
The Primary mandate of student support services at King Sabata Dalindyebo TVET College is to facilitate the academic success and personal well-being of individual students.
The SSS unit is available in all our 7 campuses to ensure accessibility of services, although certain services are centralized due to their nature.
SSS services rendered
- Student Governance – We have student representative council (SRC) in all our campuses, and they serve the interests of students at all cost. “Leaders by you, for you”
- Disability Support – The aim is to assist students living with disabilities to be part of the college community without any prejudice.
- Career Counselling & Development – We facilitate programmes aimed at assisting students understands themselves and the world of work in order to make meaningful career, educational & life decisions.
- Health, Wellness & Therapy – In collaboration with Higher Health, the SSS unit facilitates programmes that are aimed at reducing the effect of health related issues, which assist students to improve and stimulate personal functioning and growth.
- Social Support Services & Psycho-Education – The SSS unit initiates and facilitates projects & campaigns that are focused on relevant social issues (personal safety, Trauma, substance abuse, unplanned pregnancy & abortion) that have a potential of affecting students negatively.
- Life Skills – we assist students to develop meaningful academic and personal skills that could help enhance their college experience.
- Sports, Arts & Culture – We are committed to helping our students develop their talents, building confidence and becoming well-rounded individuals. We have a variety of sporting codes such as Football, Rugby, Cricket, Netball, Volleyball, Chess, Table Tennis, etc.
We are also offering: Choral music, performing arts & visual arts, and debate.
